Maths tutor in Cabramatta
Maths at Master Academy runs from Year 7 number skills through to HSC Standard, Advanced and Extension. The course name matters: a Standard student and an Extension 2 student are not doing the same paper.
PlaceholderSyllabus topics are a typical NSW outline. Confirm class availability, fees and the current timetable before you enrol.
Syllabus areas
Topics below are a typical NSW outline so families can see the shape of the work. Check the current NESA syllabus, and ask us which courses are on the timetable.
Years 7–10
- Number, fractions and proportional reasoning
- Algebra, equations and working that someone else can follow
- Measurement, geometry, Pythagoras and trigonometry
- Statistics and probability, including reading a graph properly
Years 11–12
- Mathematics Standard
- Mathematics Advanced
- Mathematics Extension 1
- Mathematics Extension 2 (Year 12)
Years
- Year 7Year 7 maths is where fractions, integers and the first algebra either settle or become a habit of guessing. Lessons stay on one skill until the student can start a question without being shown the first line.
- Year 8Year 8 pushes ratios, rates, index notation and linear relationships. Students who are still counting on fingers through fractions need that repaired before the algebra gets longer.
- Year 9Year 9 is equations, algebraic techniques, Pythagoras, and graphs that are no longer only straight lines. Statistics shows up as interpretation, not just calculating a mean.
- Year 10Year 10 is quadratics, trigonometry and the senior-course decision. The useful work is both the mathematics and an honest look at whether Standard, Advanced or Extension matches the student’s current level.
- Year 11Year 11 maths splits. Standard, Advanced and Extension 1 are different courses with different exams. Tell us the name on the school timetable. A trial in the wrong course wastes the hour.
- Year 12Year 12 maths is exam practice on the actual course: past questions, marking criteria, and the errors that keep returning. Extension 2 is not a harder worksheet of Advanced. It is its own subject.
