English tutor in Cabramatta
English tutoring is about what the student writes, not a stack of sample essays to memorise. From Year 7 through the HSC, the lesson works on a real question: a paragraph, a response, or a paper the school set.
PlaceholderSyllabus topics are a typical NSW outline. Confirm class availability, fees and the current timetable before you enrol.
Syllabus areas
Junior English and the HSC courses (typically Standard, Advanced and Extension) follow NESA. The outline is a default. Confirm the course your child is actually in.
Years 7–10
- Reading a text closely enough to quote it
- Paragraphs that make a point before they retell
- Imaginative, persuasive and analytical writing
- Speaking, listening and vocabulary in context
Years 11–12
- English Standard
- English Advanced
- English Extension (where the school offers it)
- Extended responses under exam conditions
Years
- Year 7Year 7 English builds the habit of answering the question that was asked. Students practise short paragraphs, accurate sentences, and reading that notices more than the plot.
- Year 8Year 8 asks for writing that can last more than a paragraph, with evidence from a text rather than a summary of it. Speaking tasks are treated as writing you can defend out loud.
- Year 9Year 9 moves into fuller essays, imaginative pieces and persuasive writing. A lesson will often rewrite one passage so the argument arrives earlier.
- Year 10Year 10 is the bridge. Analytical writing has to be reliable before senior English, and students should know the difference between Standard and Advanced before they lock the choice in at school.
- Year 11Year 11 English is already an HSC course. Standard and Advanced are not the same paper. Bring the module question the school set, not a request for “essay help” in general.
- Year 12Year 12 English is modules, extended responses and the clock. Lessons look at structure, textual evidence and what the marking guidelines actually reward. Memorised essays are not the method.
Class format
