Science tutor in Cabramatta
Science in Years 7 to 10 is one subject. Chemistry, physics and biology become separate HSC courses later. This page is the junior course: working scientifically, and the living, chemical and physical world at school level.
PlaceholderSyllabus topics are a typical NSW outline. Confirm class availability, fees and the current timetable before you enrol.
Syllabus areas
Focus areas follow a typical NSW Science 7–10 syllabus. Check NESA for the current wording, and ask us which year groups are running.
Working scientifically
- Planning a simple investigation and writing a conclusion that matches the data
- Graphs, units and scientific language
The usual territory
- Living world: cells, classification, body systems, ecosystems
- Chemical world: particles, reactions, acids and bases at junior level
- Physical world: forces, energy, electricity and waves
- Earth and space, where the school program includes it
Years
- Year 7Year 7 science is a new language: investigation words, fair tests, and the first models of cells and particles. Lessons keep the vocabulary tied to a diagram the student can redraw.
- Year 8Year 8 looks harder at cells, energy and chemical change. Students who are still memorising definitions without a picture need that slowed down.
- Year 9Year 9 typically reaches body systems, chemical reactions and a more formal treatment of energy, waves or electricity. The lesson uses the school’s topic, not a parallel syllabus.
- Year 10Year 10 should leave a student able to choose senior science with their eyes open. We connect the junior work to what chemistry, physics and biology each demand, without enrolling anyone in an HSC course from this website.
Class format
- Junior science is taught as one subject, in line with school.
- When a student moves into Year 11, they continue on the chemistry, physics or biology page for that course.
- Class times, fees and whether this course is running this term are confirmed by phone. They are not listed on this page yet.
